James F. Adams

Owner, Pelican Beach Management

Jim brings more than 50 years of expertise in resort development and vacation rental management. A native Mississippian and proud Ole Miss graduate, Jim moved to Destin in 1981 and has since dedicated 44 years to shaping real estate development and management along Florida’s scenic panhandle. For the past 25 years, he has been at the heart of Pelican Beach Resort and the Terrace, properties he helped develop and continues to guide rental management onsite. Known for his vision, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, Jim has built a legacy he hopes benefits owners, guests, and the entire Destin community. Outside of work, Jim enjoys all types of music, golf, SEC sports, and Tai Chi. He and his wife of 52 years, Peggy, are proud parents of two children and four grandchildren. His greatest inspiration is in his family, church, and our local community.

Joshua Pryor

General Manager

With more than 18 years of vacation rental management experience, Josh Pryor is a true success story and an inspiring example for young professionals. Beginning his journey as an intern with PBM in 2007-2008 while attending Oklahoma State University, Josh graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree and immediately joined the team as Recreation Manager. Over the years, he excelled in a variety of roles, including Conference Services Coordinator and Rental Manager, gaining extensive experience in every aspect of the property’s operations. With a deep background in Association Management and a current CAM license (2011–2026), Josh’s unparalleled knowledge of Pelican Beach allows him to deliver exceptional value to both new and longtime owners. His leadership, dedication, and intimate understanding of the property ensure Pelican Beach Management continues to thrive.

Vince Cox

Rental Manager/Assistant General Manager

With more than 15 years of experience in vacation rental management, he has built a strong track record of delivering outstanding results for both property owners and rental management operations. His career has been marked by tackling diverse challenges with professionalism and expertise, always focused on creating successful outcomes. In addition, his 16 years of military service instilled in him a meticulous attention to detail and the adaptability needed to excel in ever-changing environments. What truly distinguishes him is his unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service and cultivating lasting relationships with owners. By taking a collaborative approach and working closely with owners to understand their unique needs and goals, he consistently delivers customized solutions that exceed expectations.

Wendy Szarszewski

Comptroller

Wendy brings more than 25 years of invaluable experience in vacation rental management. Her career has been deeply rooted at Pelican Beach, where she has played a vital role in overseeing financial operations of the Pelican Beach Management rental program. In addition to her extensive tenure at Pelican Beach, Wendy’s background with Adams Real Estate has provided her with a broad understanding of real estate operations, ownership relations, and property management. Known for her precision, reliability, and deep institutional knowledge, Wendy is a trusted resource for owners and an integral part of the Pelican Beach team’s continued success.

Tricia Huber

Front Desk Manager

Tricia joined the Pelican Beach Management team in May 2024, bringing with her a strong background in hospitality and property management. Having grown up in the resort business in the Black Hills of South Dakota, she developed a passion for the industry early on. Over the years, Tricia has gained extensive experience in hospitality, multi-housing management, sales, food and beverage, and customer service, including six years managing a luxury apartment community. Drawn to the beauty and lifestyle of the Gulf Coast, she was excited to return to Florida and bring her skills and dedication to the Pelican Beach team. Her well-rounded experience and commitment to exceptional service make her a valuable asset to both owners and guests.

Jessica Hartjen

Executive Housekeeping Manager

Jessica brings more than 10 years of vacation rental management experience to Pelican Beach. Known for setting and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction, she leads her team with a strong commitment to excellence, ensuring every stay meets the exceptional quality Pelican Beach is known for.
